What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

Stonecreek Academy is proud to boast of its low student-to-teacher ratio. All grades in TK-5 enrollment is maxed at 1:17. Teachers know each student well and can understand students’ individual needs by assessing students’ cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.

Do you offer after-school care?

Stonecreek Academy does not offer after school care beyond our enrichment program(s) which ends at 2:15 pm .For more information, please see onsite office staff.

What is a multi-age /multi-grade class?

A multi-age class at Stonecreek Academy is composed of children of a two-year age span or two grade levels. This classroom structure gives each child opportunities to associate and work with others on the basis of skills, abilities, interests, personality, and age. When the age range among a group of children is increased, so is the range of development. Children see themselves more realistically as they come to appreciate the talents, skills, and abilities of their classmates.

Teachers of multi-age classes see the differences among students' strengths and learning styles as complementary. Teachers have a two-year period to work with each child and help individuals through developmental stages of learning, often much more effectively than a child moving from one teacher to another each year. Older students who have been in the classroom an additional year understand the class procedures better and can help the younger learners adjust more easily.Class placement is determined after discussions with teachers and parents.

What are the qualifications of the teachers?

All teaching faculty are professional educators with 10 – over 25 years’ experience in education. Its is also important to note that all of our teachers and staff have been background checked through both state and federal. All teachers also receive professional development weekly to meet Stonecreek Academy’s individual students’ needs. Teachers are trained in strategies to remediate and accelerate students’ needs to ensure each child develops his or her personal best academics, social, and spiritual gifts.
